Simple Baked Apples

Except they are not really baked! This recipe is clean, simple, kid friendly, delicious and nutritious! Start with 4 or 5 apples (I used 4 but only me and my girls were home, for a bigger batch I would have used about 6 apples) peel core and slice the apples and throw them into a big bowl……

  You will need:

  • 4 to 6 organic apples (we used fugi but granny smith would work well too!)
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. Xylitol (all natural non sugar sweetener made from the bark of the birch tree)
  • 1 tsp. alcohol free vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

mix all ingredients together in a bowl…

p.s. if you want to eat it raw... it tastes so good like this too! just give it a good toss and add a little lemon juice!

Then pour it into your pan over med. heat… Like so :o)

Add a couple of tbsp. water or fresh squeezed orange juice to add some moisture to the pan and help the apple juices start flowin!

Give em a good toss and let them cook down for about 10 min. they will look like this…

And what do the kids think?

Victoria approves!

And…

Olivia does too!

Enjoy!
